You needed a map to keep all the various storylines straight during this week’s episodes. In other words, it’s not good to wait until 10 p.m. and after a glass of wine to watch the show, but I’ll still give my map-making skills a try…

TERRORIST TROUBLE: Alicia is called to serve on a top secret military committee that has to decide whether to kill Massoud Tehan, a recruiter for Isis whose recruits have killed many. She’s all for it, until it’s revealed he’s also an American. It’s a two-day hush-hush thing and on the second day, Capt. Hicks, the lone dissenting vote, is removed for “leaking secrets,” even though Alicia is sure he didn’t. At the end of the episode we learn that Tehan has been assassinated. But the real reason for the story is bigger than that — more later.

ELSBETH RETURNS: This is what we’ve been waiting a long time for, however brief it turns out to be. The Feds are investigating Peter and Eli hires our favorite wacko lawyer to defend him. But as she’s asking questions, she discover a big conflict of interest, and leaves practically mid-sentence, recommending her ex-husband Michael who is every bit as loony as her (he carries his tiny dog with him everywhere). Eli finally discovers that the Feds aren’t just interested in Peter’s voter fraud, but also one of his donors (who is – wait for it — Elsbeth’s client).

THE FIRM: After a photo shoot where the reporter wants to take a pic of just the female staff, Cary and David Lee are suspicious that Diane is going to boot all men out. Lucca doesn’t give Cary any answers at lunch and Jason can’t dig up any info either. Is this how the series will end – with gender division?

OFFICE ROMANCE: Damn – Alicia returns to the office to open a wine bottle and the cork breaks off. Luckily, Jason comes by and gets the cork out, but encourages her to find another way to relax. That’s when the lights go out and Alicia decides Jason IS the way to relax. Finally! And the next day, she tells him she wants more.

THE TAP: Remember those guys who were tapping Alicia’s phone? They’ve been listening to her top secret meeting and someone tapping the phone may be the leak. And some guy is having too much fun listening to her liaison with Jason. Yuck!

Will this be Elsbeth’s last time on the show? What did you think of her equally crazy ex? Is Diane plotting to change the firm? Give us your TwoCents…
